Writing a Press Release for Beginners

Creating a press release is a great way to get your name out there, and get the maximum exposure that you deserve.  You don’t want to be cheap with your press releases, and you don’t want to distribute them in the wrong places either.  As long as you have something news worthy, you’ll have a good chance at gaining some great public exposure on the news stations, major websites, and more.

Have something newsworthy: Before you even begin writing your press release, you’re going to want to think of something that’s newsworthy.  Are you opening up a new shop?  If you are, what’s making yourself unique compared to others?  For example, if you’re opening up a candy shop, maybe you want to give away $5 worth of candy to the first 100 customers.  When you do things like this, the media will eat it up.

Know how the format: Press releases have their own formats, and it’s essential that you know how to write them the right way.  You can either do them yourself, or you can hire someone out that can do it for you.  Instead of myself going into detail on how you should write a press release, I will give you some websites that you can check out.

Check those three sites out, and it should give you a great idea on how you can create one the right way.

Distribute it: Once you think you have a great press release that you’re ready to launch, make sure that you’re not cheap with the launch.  Instead of taking the free route, you’ll want to distribute it with platinum plans.  Paying that extra $75, or whatever the price may be is going to give you a lot more leads, and exposure than the free ones.

Press releases are one of the most common ways that businesses take today.  Hope online, work up a great press release, and let’s hope you gain that valuable exposure!
