Why Business Goals Aren’t Achieved
With it being the end of the year, it’s time to reflect on our business goals to see what goals have been met and what goals didn’t even come close. Since most goals are usually met, there are some that can’t be managed. Why? Well, it does depend on the market, the business and so many other factors. Let’s take a look at why some business goals can’t be achieved.
Ceiling set too high – Let’s face it that some business owners set the ceiling way too high when it comes to goals. Is there something wrong with this? Absolutely not. You always want to push yourself but if it’s your first year in the business and you want to make 2 million dollars, people will realize why you didn’t reach that goal.
No action taken- It’s always fun to write goals and the main reason that so many people aren’t successful today are simply because they don’t take action. So many people love to dream about making a million dollars a year but what are they doing about it? Probably nothing. In fact, I’ve seen stats were 98% of people never take actions on your goals. Look at the stat and tell yourself it’s not hard to be in the top 2%.
Getting bored – Some people start up a business and they get all excited but once that 2nd month comes around and they lose that focus, it’s hard to continue. With some businesses, they see a nice profit but the owners just find themselves being too bored. If you’re finding that you’re changing your mind a lot, you may want to second guess your goal setting.
Just not focused – A smart business owner will focus on his/her goals. If your goal for the month is to get 30 new clients, you’ll want to focus on that and not on remodeling your office. Do you see where I’m going with this? Every year, you should have some goals set up. If you don’t focus and your mindis everywhere, you will find yourself going all over the place.
Negative attitude – If you have a negative attitude, this can be the biggest downfall for your business. When you have negative thoughts, you’re going to go down the negative road. It’s important to realize that no matter how rough the market is or even your business, you have to keep your head above water and think of how you can think positive. A positive attitude can take you a long way.
Millions of goals are set each year and sure, some of them aren’t reached but many of the are by business owners that want to get somewhere. As long as your goals aren’t too realistic and you have a positive and focused attitude on things, your business can take you a long ways.
