Who you Shouldn’t Hire
If you’re a small business owner whose business is slowly growing, you may be in search of some more help for your business. This means you will have to hire more employees which may seem a little overwhelming at first. A business means a lot to a person if they’ve created it and watched their business grow thanks to all their own hard work. So you will want to make sure that when you hire people you’re going to get people who care about your business and want it to succeed just like you do. To make things a little easier for when the time comes to hiring, you may want to consider some of these tips when it comes to “who not to hire”.
Bad backgrounds – You may not want to hire someone who has a bad background. This means has any bad history on their records due to anything from drunk driving, criminal history and so on. You want to stay away from these people. If they’ve stolen in the past what stops them from stealing from you in the future?
Job history – If the people you’re considering has a bad job history, you may want to avoid this person as well. If they have been fired more than once, it’s for a reason. Don’t bother with these employees.
Friendly – You always want to make sure the people you spend time with in your office are friendly. You don’t want a person that is crabby, hard to get a long with or someone who will most likely start problems. Instead, find someone with a positive attitude, happy and easy and fun to work with.
Reliable- You also don’t want someone who isn’t reliable. If you need someone to come in due to something urgent, you want them to be there. You don’t want someone that’s impossible to get ahold of, comes in late and isn’t reliable.
Family and friends – It’s not a good idea to hire family and friends at all. You want to stay away from that for many reasons. For example, if you get upset with one of them due to something non work related, they may not show up for work, make your business a disaster due to payback and so on. Also it doesn’t even have to be anything that serious or bad. Say you need to get a lot of work done but you can’t show up because a family member has died. Now your sister or who ever you hired will not be reliable to get the work done because she will go to the funeral as well, leaving no one to work.
There are many things you should look out for when it comes to hiring employees. You will want the best of the best and to get there you must skip through all the bad employees right from the beginning!

Wait until it happens to one of someone you love, then you tell me if you can still make the same decisions on who you will and will not hire. You can not say in life what you will do or not do. Just keep living.
