TV Advertising – Will it Work for you?
We all know that advertising is very important when we have our own business. Advertising spreads the word of our business, brings in more customers, allows our business to grow and also allows us business owners to make more money. If you’re thinking of ways to advertise for your business, there are several. You can try anything from radio advertising, magazine, newspaper, direct mail, TV and the list goes on.
If you’re extra interested in TV advertising then you’ve come to the right place. TV advertising isn’t for everyone, yet it very beneficial to others. So, how do you know if it will work for you or not? Continue reading below to find out!
Things to consider:
What channel? – What channel are you looking to advertise on? Different channels draw to different crowds. If you’re looking to draw the attention of a 10 year old, you may not want to advertise on a soap opera channel. Same goes to an elderly person for cartoons. So, first step, find a channel that will work best for the crowd your trying to draw attention to.
What time? – Also, what time are you looking to advertise? This is another important thing to keep in mind. If you’re wanting to advertise a toy for children you may not want to advertise your commercial at 2 in the morning. So pick a time that will target the most people at that certain hour of the day.
What day? – What day are you looking to advertise? This is important because a lot of people have the same schedule. It is safe to say that many people work the average, 8-4 or 9-5 M-F job. So, if you’re looking to target people in their 40′s and older you may not want to advertise on a Monday afternoon at 1 because they will probably be at work. So find a day like the weekends because children, teenagers and adults are most likely off work for the day.
How much? – How much does the TV advertising cost? If you’re able to afford it due to the money you have coming in, go for it. If not, say maybe later. TV advertising doesn’t work for everyone so you don’t want to blow your money on the advertising if you’re already going paycheck to paycheck. Instead, save up some money a little bit each week and wait for a good time to advertise. Although if you do have the money, test it out for a week and see how things go. A week is a good amount of time to test it because you see what days bring in the most people and if it is worth it or not.
Your certain crowd – Think of the age group that you’re trying to get ahold of. Are they young children or the elderly? If so, TV advertising may not be the way to go. Children are too young to comprehend your advertisement and the elderly have a harder time contacting people. Let’s say you have a website at the bottom of the screen to contact you, children and the elderly probably won’t be able to contact you even though they are interested.
TV advertising is a great thing to try for your business. We all know that the majority of people watch TV on a regular basis, so they’re bound to come across your commercial/advertisement. Give it a try and keep these tips listed above in mind. They are all important to think about and can help you determine when, what channel and what day you want to advertise.
