Starting up a Cleaning Business

Everyone has a dream of opening up their own business, but if you have something simple in mind, such as a cleaning business, that’s great, because I wanted to show you exactly how you can get started today, and potentially make $50,000 a year doing part time work.  That number is very reachable, and the work you need to put in will be minimal.

You won’t get all the details online

You’re going to find that starting up a business isn’t the end all, be all.  It’s going to take work, and effort.  There really isn’t any magic formula.  If you have great work ethics, and determination, you’re going to find that you can go far in life.  I wanted to point out a great guide by Sam Rodman.  He will teach you everything you need to know about opening up your cleaning business in depth.

Starting up a cleaning business 101

When you think of a cleaning business, you really don’t think about a lot of start up costs, and while that’s true, there are a lot of things you need to keep in mind such as a car, insurance for your employees, as well as a building if you get big enough.  I would recommend a building when you get a handful of employees.

Getting your clients

Once you get your clients, and can prove that you can do a great job, you’re going to most likely have them for a long time.  You will most likely set up a contract, and come on the set days to clean.  Some businesses / houses will want a simple sweep, while others want every detail cleaned.  Cleaning isn’t hard, and anyone can do it.  I think this is why many people like to go this route.

How can you get the clients?

Just like any other business, there are going to be a million, and one ways.  You can use the Internet, the newspaper, bulletin boards, go door to door, and the list goes on.  Once you get good enough on what you do, you’re going to find that referrals spread fast.  You’ll want to trust me on this one.  Once you get enough work, your head is going to spin, and you’ll be hiring more people than you would imagine.

What are the average start up costs?

The average start up costs with a cleaning business is fairly minimal.  You will find that your basic cleaning supplies can be bought at the dollar store, and the only big purchase you may have to make is the car you’re going to take to get there.  By now, you will most likely have a car, so that you shouldn’t be a problem.

By now, you should get a better idea on where you stand, and how you can take your business to the next level.  Starting a cleaning business isn’t the hardest to set up, and again, as long as you have motivation, and you’re determined, this business is possible.
