Starting a Business with No Money

While starting a business with no money isn’t the brightest idea in the book, some future business owners think they can start their own business with no money at all.  While some can become successful, a lot tend to fail because in general, it takes money to make money.  If you don’t have any money, there are some things you can do.

Think cheap – Let’s start off and think of things that don’t require a lot of start up money.  Creating an online business for example is a great way to start.  With a website, you won’t need a huge store, employees, etc.  This alone can save you a ton of money.  Just think about it.  You can reach the whole world while your store can only reach the local area.

Try a service – If you’re not Internet savvy or you just want to work with people, you may want to think about a service oriented business.  Let’s take a cleaning business for example.  These businesses don’t take a lot.  You’ll only need a few cleaning products and a way to get there.  The only hard part is finding the customers, which isn’t that hard if you do a little work.

Work your full-time job - Starting a business isn’t easy.  It requires a lot of motivation and work.  Money doesn’t come easy all the time.  If you’re already working a full-time job, you should keep it while you work on your side business.  Sure, it’s going to leave you with no free time but if you work your butt off, you can turn that business into a gold mine all while having your full-time income.

Set goals and budget – The main mistake that most future business owners make is that they will just start a business and run with it.  A successful business will have everything laid out the way they want it.  Where do you want to be 5 years from now?  What do you want to make?  You’ll want to know where you’ll want to be and how you’re going to make it.  This will give you a great idea on how you’ll make your money in the long haul.

Having money helps when you’re looking to start a new business but if you don’t have any, I highly recommend you look into starting a business with the options I’ve listed above.  You’re not going to want to go out there and start up a business that costs $30,000 when you have $0.  Businesses take time to grow.  As long as you take action and put your heart into the game, you’ll definitely succeed in life.
