Rules: First, right from the start you’re going to want to lay down your set of rules. This means let your employees know that they must be on time, and hard working. If you can set your rules down right from the beginning they will understand that you expect certain things from them, and if they fail to do so, there will be consequences.
Attitude: Always try to have a good attitude around your employees. This means never talk negative about the business around them, and always try to be helpful and have a smile on your face. They don’t want to work for someone dull and negative. Instead, build a relationship with your employees, just don’t become too lenient.
Communication skills: Make sure you have good communication skills as well. This means, get your point across, talk with your employees to see how they’re doing, if they need any help or advice on their work and so on. When you’re helpful and talkative more will get done and there will be a more positive attitude.
Conceptual skills: When a manager, you should work on your conceptual skills as well. This means, learn how to problem solve, organize your work and always come up with back up plans and new ideas for the future.
Group skills: When you have your own business or you’re a manager of a company, you NEED to learn to work as a group. When doing this, everyone will be assigned a project to get done, and will be helpful to others. If you can work as a team, more will get done and the work will be less stressful and more effective!
