6 Ways to Find Items to Sell on eBay
eBay has been around for years, and when you’re looking to start up your own at home business, you’ve probably thought about using something like eBay, or Craigslist. Thousands of Amercians today make a living from selling at home, and you can join the crowd too. As long as you can find items worth selling, it doesn’t take much to list, and ship.
So, where can you find items to sell on this popular auction site? I talked with a few people online that sell on eBay, as well as read some articles to give me a better idea on where you can find items at a bottom of the barrel prices that can turn you a nice profit.
#1 Garage Sales: This one is a tough one, but every city, and state has a garage sale. What you’re going to find out is that you’re going to need to get good at finding things at a good price. Don’t just buy stuff for the sake of it. Instead, you’ll want to search and see what it’s worth. What you can potentially do is invest in a Smartphone such as the Android, or iPhone. On this, you can download applications that tie you into eBay to see what those items are worth.
#2 Wholesalers: With the net, you’re going to find that it’s awfully hard to find a good wholesaler, and while there are some good places online, a lot of them are trying to scam you. There are only a few that I recommend, and that one being is SaleHoo, and a few others.
#3 Auctions: No, I’m not talking about eBay, but actual auctions in your area. These can include government based ones, as well as estate auctions. There are probably some going on in your area just about every weekend. What you can do is look at your newspaper, or check into some websites to get schedules.
#4 Flea Markets: Every town has a flea market, and just like garage sales, you can find some gems here as well. Remember, you will want to do your research with these items as well. Don’t just buy items for the sake of flipping them, because you can hurt yourself doing this in the long haul.
#5 Hot Deals: I used to do this one back in the day, before my business took off, but what you could do is find some killer deals online with popular products. What I would generally do is find a deal, use a coupon, and get the best savings. In exchange, I’d flip it on eBay, and make as much as $50-100 per item by doing so.
#6 Thrift Shops: Your local Goodwills and other stores such as this may have good deals that you can take advantage of. What you can do is search for good name brand clothing, or items that may have potential value. Treat this like a garage sale, and see what you can find.
By now, you can potentially see the pattern. What you’re going to want to do is check out eBay and see what items are generally going for. You can do this by looking at auctions that are about to end. This will give you a good idea on what you can get. Learn the techniques on when you should list, and how you should price, and you can make a pretty nice living! Try out a few steps above, and see if you can find some gems. Who knows? You may like it so much, you can turn this junk searching into a full time job!
