Saving Money on Business Supplies
We all hate to spend a lot of money on things we don’t enjoy or necessarily “want”. A lot of business owners can tell you all about that. Instead, we love to save money, and get good deals on those things.
Office and business supplies can be very costly, and take a large amount out of our paycheck. Everything from paper, to stamps, pens and pencils, and ink for our printers adds up fairly quickly. We try to get as much use out of everything we can, but we can only go so far.
If you’re looking to save money on your business items, it is very easy! There are several ways of doing it, and some you may never even thought of.
Ways to save on your business supplies:
Avoid office stores – This may sound silly, but sometimes you want to avoid office stores! Stores like Staples and Office Max charge way too much for some of their supplies. Things like bottles of soap, sticky notes, and paper are examples of things that are way over priced.
Think of what you need for your business, and find the stores that are the cheapest even when not on sale. Don’t just do all your shopping at one store because it’s convenient, you may end up spending way too much!
Dollar Tree – This may also sound crazy, but have you been to the Dollar Tree lately? If not, make a trip ASAP! The Dollar Tree has everything from white out (Bic – the most common name brand), paper, to sticky notes, to pens and pencils and Sharpies for a buck! The Dollar Tree is highly underestimated and is a great place to find awesome deals!
Business credit card – Business credit cards are also something that can save us a lot of money when shopping. Credit cards can save us anywhere from 5-25%. That can definitely add up quick!

Downgrade – Don’t feel like you need to get the best of the best when it comes to supplies. Get used furniture (desks, chairs, and office supplies), and no name brands for your other supplies like paper, permanent markets, etc. Doing this will save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in the long run!
There are several ways to save on business supplies. If you consider the ways above, consider yourself one step ahead. Don’t spend more money than you have to. We run a business to make money, not to spend it wrongly. Find good deals, get no name brands, and consider other stores for shopping!
