Recession Proof Businesses
With the economy in toilet like it is today, it’s no wonder that future business owners or even business owners today are worried about their business. Recessions will always come, it’s just a big cycle. We will have the down times and we will have the up times but if you want to prepare a business that can thrive during anytime, I’ll give you a few ideas.
Health care: This is a no brainer. There is so much money involved in this industry. Since people will always get sick and will need surgeries, we will need anything health care related. A business in the health care industry will always succeed, it’s a fact.
Communications: Sectors such as wireless communications, etc are a great industry to get into since there will always be some form of communications. With the communication industry change? Absolutely!! With the Internet today, communication is only going to get cheaper and cheaper with services such as Skype.
Education: Our children of tomorrow will always need an education. What does this mean for you? We will always need those teachers to teach them. Anything education related will always thrive no matter how the economy is acting.
Energy: When you think of recession proof businesses, we have to think of what we will need no matter what the economy is doing. Things like energy will always be around no matter how much money people have to spend. When it comes to heating a house, etc, people will make this the number one priority on their list.
Security: Jobs such as police officers, fire departments, EMT, etc will always be around. We need to fight fires, fight crime and help others when they are need. Since most of these jobs are government regulated, it’s not hard to find businesses that can relate with these services.
Now I know you can’t just open up a police department or open up a hospital, I know. What you need to is look at these industries and think of ways to build businesses that can cater to them. Let’s use an example. Say you want to go into health care industry. You could think of a medical records service, a transcription service or something that relates to the health care industry. Since they will be your #1 customer, you won’t to worry about them going down.
Now, I’m not saying all of these businesses are going to be recession proof. They are still going to show signs of cut backs, etc to prepare for the bad economy. Once things turn around (and they always do), everything will only go back up. As I mentioned earlier, it’s one big cycle when it comes to the economy.
