Radio Advertising – Will it Work for you?
As we all know, advertising is a very important action to take when you own a business. Advertising brings in more customers, spreads the word of our business and allows our business to grow tremendously over time. The hardest thing to figure out is how you want to advertise. There are plenty of ways to advertise but everyone has their own way of doing it.
If you’re thought about radio advertising that is a great way to advertise for your business. Although it may be a great way to advertise, it does only work for certain people. How do you know if it will work for your business and benefit it? Continue to read below to find out.
Who do you want to target? – The first thing you’re going to want to ask yourself is, who do you want to target? This means do you want to get the attention of adults, children, teenagers and so on. This will help determine a lot later on.
Do they listen? – Now that you have an audience in mind for who you want to target think to yourself and figure out if you think they listen to the radio. If you’re trying to reach the attention of people in their 70′s or 80′s you may not have too many listeners. Although if you’re trying to reach teenagers you will probably have a great audience!
What station? – Now, what radio station are you looking to get on? If you’re trying to get middle age adults you probably won’t go to a station that plays Britney Spears, although if you’re trying to get males in their young 20′s you may want to get on an alternative rock station. See how that works? You have to think of what the majority would listen to to determine what station to play on.
What time are you looking at? – Another thing that is important is what time you want to advertise. Lets say you’re looking to reach out to middle age adults. The majority of them work a 8-4 or 9-5 shift. Since the majority of them work those hours, you may not want to advertise at 12 in the afternoon. Also, if you’re trying to reach teenagers you will want to wait until they get out of school so they have a chance to get to a radio.
Can you afford it? – Radio advertising may be expensive depending on what station you want, what days and what time you want. See if your business can afford it and then go from there. Don’t break yourself over radio advertising, instead do what you can afford.
There are plenty of ways to advertise your business but it is best to know which way works the best for YOU. If you’re looking to advertise on the radio in the future be sure you look into the prices, and review if it seems like it would work for your by reading above.
