Low Cost Web Hosting for a Small Business

finding a web hostMany businesses in today’s era needs to run on the Internet.  If you’re not running on the Internet, you need to highly consider it.   Whether you’re running a retail shop, or maybe a service, people out there searching for you, and if your website isn’t listed on the search engines such as Google, and Bing, you’re losing out on potential customers!

How can my small business find low cost hosting?

With so many web hosting services out there, I know it can be rough to find a host that’s reliable, and one that can do the job right.  Before I start, I just want to let you know that our business uses HostGator, and I can’t recommend them enough.  Your opinion may vary, but here’s what you need to look for when choosing a low cost web host.

Up-time: This is huge when it comes to the web hosting world.  If your site is down, how are people going to get on it?  You’ll want to look at their up time rate.  You’ll never find 100%, but many will claim 99.9%.  Can they be lying?  Sure, but it’s up to you to dig deeper.

Check Reviews: I love the Internet solely based on the fact that I can go online, and read reviews.  When you think that you’ve found a web host, you’ll want to do a quick search on the host.  Instantly, you should be able to get some reviews based on other people’s views.  If you get a positive vibe, I say go for it.  If the vibe is rather negative, you may want to find someone else.

How many domains? If you only want to host one domain one your server, that’s fine, but what happens if you have 3 .com addresses?  You will most likely want to host them all the same server, rather than paying separate.  This is why I would highly recommend that you get a host with unlimited domain hosting.

Price plan: Yes, every host is going to vary, but make sure that you read deep into the pricing.  Many companies aren’t really up front, and you’ll soon find out that millions of other things will cost extra to get them added on.  Make a list of the things that you’re going to need, and from there, you’ll want to write down what each price plan is going to cost you.

This is really all that you should look into when choosing a host plan.  Now, keep in mind that if you don’t like it after using it for a few months, you can always switch.  A good company won’t make you sign a long term deal.  If they do, you will want to find someone else.
