How to Write A Business Cease And Desist Letter
One of the most popular forms used today in the business world is the Cease and Desist Letter. One can use it if there are excessive phone calls from your creditor or lending companies to your personal phone number, to your work, to the contact details of your family or your neighbor, and it really makes you frustrated when they do that. If you know that you regularly keep in touch with them using your personal numbers and home contact details, you can issue the company of your creditor a cease and desist letter to stop their harrowing and over excessive phone calls on your work or any place else. Here are the procedure on how to make a Cease and Desist Letter:
- You should know the appropriate time to use a Cease and Desist Letter. This letter is somehow your last option to tell them to stop calling you at work or in other place disturbingly and inappropriately. If you consistently tell them to stop calling every time you answer their calls, and yet, they do not stop still, then it is the best time to send them one Cease and Desist letter. You can also write them this kind of letter if they use offensive words and language during your conversations, they call you beyond the hours you allow them to call or you are not the customers they want to call and yet, they persistently call you.
- Contact your creditor first and notify them verbally or through phone that you will send them a Cease and Desist letter. Some will stop calling you once you notify them, and some will want to receive a letter from you that they may receive trough snail mail, fax or email.
- When you write the letter, make sure that it is a formal letter in a block style. Include all the parts of the letter and in the body part, write your intentions for writing the letter and your reasons why you have to make a Cease and Desist letter. Include specific situations or days when you are truly disturbed by the calls made by the creditor. Do not forget to sign the letter once you finish writing it.
As always, it’s best to consult with an attorney. It’s important to have the appropriate lingo inside the letter so that you can get your point across.
