How to Promote your Website
If your business is going to entail running a website, or maybe you’re already running a website, there are so many ways to promote your website, it’s going to make your head spin. I’m going to point out a few that you can take advantage of in order to draw more traffic to your website.
PPC: PPC or known as pay per click is a great way to drive traffic to your site instantly. Sites like Adwords, AdCenter, and Yahoo all have great PPC platforms where you can drive traffic. If you want to learn more about PPC, I highly recommend the book, Ultimate Guide to Adwords.
Facebook / Twitter: Social media is the new way to promote your website today. Create a profile on both sites, and start networking with others. Hold contests, and build your fan base. The more people you have, the more traffic you can potentially drive to your site.
Article Directories: Sites like EzineArticles is another great way in order to drive traffic to your site. You’ll basically write a site for their platform, and they will reward you with a link back to your site, which will then draw people to click on it, if your article is good enough.
YouTube: If you’re good with video, or you know someone that can produce one for you, you may want to consider creating a video for You Tube. You want to think “viral”. If you create something good, you’re going to find that it’s going to spread like wildfire.
Social Bookmarking: There are so many social bookmarking sites out there such as Digg, Stumbleupon, and more. Once again, if you have something viral, people are going to want to spread the word. The more people that like your stuff, the better it is for you.
Message Boards: The Internet is filled with billions of websites, and no matter what you’re trying to promote, there’s probably a message board. Hop on that message board, offer your advice, and leave a signature on your posts (if they allow it) Just make sure that you don’t spam.
Besides the only approach, you can also promote via flyers, business cards, post cards that you direct mail, radio ads, and so much more. The possibilities are endless when it comes to promoting your website.
