How The Business Credit Card Process Works
You’ve finally started up your own business and now all you need for your business is some credit. I’m hoping by now that you’ve looked at some business credit cards on the market and once you found one, I’ll show you how the process works so that you’ll know when you’ll get that approval notice or card in the mail.
Fill out the online application – Once you find the card you want to apply for, you’re going to simply apply with your personal information. You have to remember that a business credit card is tied in with your personal account. You business doesn’t have it’s own credit score, etc. Most people didn’t know that you don’t need to own a business to open up a business credit card.
Bank gets info- Once you hit that submit button or you send in that flyer, the bank is going to look at all of your information and check out your credit score. If everything looks okay or even if it looks bad, they end a response back to you.
Ask for funds – If you’re applying for a bad credit business card, you might have to add a deposit. If this is the case, you’ll have to add your funds in order to activate the card.
You get the response – When the bank decides on if they want to accept you or not, you’ll either get a denial letter in the mail or you’ll get your credit card. Depending on the credit card, some card companies will allow you to know your status ahead of time before you get your card while others will just send out the card.
Card in the mail – If you do get approved, your card will usually pop up in your mailbox within 2-4 weeks. Once you get your card ,make sure that you call the toll free number on the sticker listed on the front of the card. Once the card is activated, store it in a safe place and use it responsibly. Once you have your card in hand, remember you know can do whatever you please but just make sure you don’t spend over your head.
The process is rather simple and many business owners often think too much when it comes to the card process. There isn’t much more than I’ve explained above. Business credit cards work just like a personal card. As long as you have a great personal credit score and you meet the requirements, you can find a perfect business credit card in your mailbox in no time.
