Going Green with your Business
Going green is always a good thing, and when you run a small, or large business, you’re going to want to do as much good for the Earth as possible. From recycling to donating, there are so many things that you can do in order to protect our environment. Every little thing counts when it comes to going green.
Simply recycle: It sounds so obvious, but find out how you can recycle in your area. Do your schools offer free bins to throw your paper in? Can you recycle with your community? Check with your local city to see how you can recycle.
Reduce the paper: A lot of companies love to use paper to hand out memos, etc. Instead of using paper, simply go to an “online” route. Email memos, rather than printing them. Try and do as much as possible online.
Watch your power: If you’re not in your office, try and turn down the heat, or turn off the A/C. There’s no reason to have a comfortable climate when no one is there. It’s also wise to turn off all electronics as well when leaving an office for the night.
Buy energy star appliances: If you’re in an office with electronics, and appliances such as stoves, microwaves, etc, try and look for the energy star logo. This alone, can save you a few dollars each and every month. It will add up fairly quick!
Change your light bulbs: If you have an older based light bulb, try looking to an energy efficient one. These light bulbs will cost you a few dollars to invest in, but in the long run, it will be well worth it.
Look at green cleaning products: Yes, there are actually green cleaning supplies out there. If you can clean with these supplies, you’re not only still cleaning your office, but you’re helping the environment as well!
