Decorating Your Office Space
Right now you may be looking at your office and you’re probably thinking to yourself, “wow, my office is pretty dull.” or “my office needs to be livelier.” If this sounds like you, you may want to start using some of the decorating tips mentioned below in order to make your office look lively and pleasing to the eye.
Paint the walls – Most offices have plain old white walls. Painting your room alone can make a huge difference. Try going to your local paint store and pick up some samples. Match those samples to the flooring your currently have and see if any of them make the room look a little easier on the eye. Some stores you’ll find that they will offer little sample packs, where you can paint a little bit on the wall before you start buying it by the gallon.
Cover those walls- Look at your office walls right now (if you can) and tell me what is on the walls. Is there anything at all? If not, start hanging up little knick knacks, pictures and other things that may blend with the room’s atmosphere. Try going to local craft stores or arts and crafts stores to find things that may look good in your office.
Update that furniture- I don’t know what your budget is but if you have older furniture, ditch it! Go out to a new furniture store and check out new desks, filing cabinets, chairs and everything else. See what kind of options that are out there. Adding new desks and chairs alone can make a room look a million times better!
Add some green – Whether you want to keep live plants in your office or fake plants, it’s all up to you. Make sure that if you do decide to get a real plant that you water it on a daily basis, so that it doesn’t die. A dead plant in a boring office can cause trouble. Try get stand up plants or little shelves where you can place plants on them for more action for the room.
Simply clean – Is your office dirty right now? If it is, why not organize your office and make it look a little cleaner. Take loose papers, pens, pencils and everything else in between and organize it. Get organizers that can store pencils and other gadgets that make your office look a lot cleaner.
