Coupons for your Restaurant Flyer

Restaurant flyerBy now, you should understand that advertising is one of the most important things that you can do with your business.  When it comes down to advertising for your restaurant, you’re going to notice that a lot of your competitors use coupons, and if you’re not, you’re missing out on some serious traffic.

Restaurants in my area offer a lot of coupons, and I tend to go to a lot of new ones just because of the coupon itself.  If it wasn’t for the coupon, I wouldn’t go to these places.  I want to point out what you should put in your flyer or coupon to get people like me into your business.

Don’t be picky on your specials

I hate picking up a coupon and there are so many stupid limitations.  I don’t want to see buy one, get one free but you have to buy two drinks, and you can only use it from 4pm – 6pm.  Nothing says bigger turn off than some owner that wants to profit more than anything.  These are the owners who don’t care about new customers walking through that door.

Offer something good

Don’t just put a simple 5% off your total bill coupon in the newspaper, because this isn’t going to work for me.  I want to see buy one, get one free, or something that’s good like that.  The word “free” or “50% off” is generally a great way to get new people in your door.  They figure that they can try out your stuff, and not have to worry about spending a lot.

What do you have to offer?

The next thing I want to know is why I should come into your restaurant?  Why should I come eat there?  This is where you should boast about your food.  If you have any rewards, name them.  If you have been in business for 25 years, tell us that.  Reputation goes a long way when it comes to food.  A lot of new people are hesitant to try new places.

Know where your coupon is coming from

Unless you’re just advertising in one place, you want to know where your coupon is coming from.  Whether it’s a little code in the corner, or it’s a special deal for each paper.  You’ll want to know which places work, and which one’s don’t.  This way, if you find that a lot of people are coming through, you can use that advertising method again.

When it comes to coupons, try and take some of my advice.  I can almost guarantee you that you can draw in new patrons if you use your advertising the right way.  Business is important, and if you don’t advertise, you better hope you have some good customers that pass the word on about your shop.
