Advertising your Business on Facebook
Do you own your own business? If you own or work for a small business, you are probably extremely aware of your budget in today’s tight economy. Now more than ever, it’s paramount to advertise and get customers into your business, but you can’t spend lots of money to do so. And you need to see an immediate return on your investment whenever you do spend money. Here is an easy, free idea to help you pinch your pennies and promote your small business online.
Facebook is Your Friend!
You probably already have a personal Facebook account, but have you ever considered opening one for your business? It’s completely free, you need no coding experience to set it up, and it’s a really easy way to promote your sales or specials, and begin building a mailing list of loyal customers. Many younger customers use Facebook almost like a personal search engine, where they can keep abreast not only of friends and family, but of all the businesses and brands that are important to them.
Think of your Facebook page like a free, extended Yellow Pages listings. Make sure you list hours of operation and contact information, along with directions to your business, and photos of your merchandise or services you offer. You can even have a section for customers to post reviews of your business! Once you get the basics of the page put together, invite your personal Facebook friends to “fan” the page, and ask them to spread the word. Ask your employees to do the same. Make sure you post information in your office or business promoting the Facebook page to your customers as well. You could even offer a small discount to each customer who becomes a fan.
The important thing about having a Facebook page is updating it regularly with specials or status updates, or even posting photos of new merchandise shipments, so your business stays fresh in your Facebook fans’ feeds. Otherwise, you know what they say out of sight is definitely out of mind.
