8 Ways People Can Contact Your Business
We all know that when owning a business, you want the customer to be able to contact you in any way if they have a question because you may never know, that customer could potentially be a long-term client worth thousands of dollars.
When it comes to contacting you on your website, there are so many ways to do it and I’ve come up with 8 ways on how a customer can contact you. Think of creative ways to implement these systems into your online business. The more options you have, the easier it is for your potential customer.
Toll free number- Everyone loves to hear a voice on the other end. If you can get a hold of a toll-free number, that’s great because it’s going to be free for the customer. If you can’t, no worries because as long as you have a number, a customer would love to chat and get real-time answers.
E-mail- E-mail is convenient for those who don’t want to wait on hold of simply don’t want to use the phone. E-mail is also great for those who are looking to keep things for their own personal records. If you offer e-mail support, make sure you always answer within 24-48 hours.
Instant Messenger – With the Internet adapting like it is today, a lot of your customers will possibly have major instant messenger platforms like AIM, Yahoo and MSN. If you have user names on these platforms, by all means use it! You can direct customers on where to go and how they can do things that they don’t know how to do.
Live Chat Box- A live chat box is similar to the instant messenger idea but this is actually built into your website. These scripts usually cost money but are well worth it if you have a bigger business. This is nice for customers who don’t have an instant messenger platform and want to chat with you right on your website.
Support Tickets- A support ticket system is designed more for a technology based website. With a support ticket, a customer can ask a question and you can answer it all within their account. This works a lot like email but is used on your site through their own user name.
Online Form – Email is great but its better if you can just offer a form on your website. This way, a customer can ask a question without signing into their own e-mail account. On the online form, make sure you get all their details so that you can email them back.
Mail – People rarely mail in today’s age for support but you never know. Some people may simply want to send you something. This also works great for sponsors as well that are looking to gain exposure. It never hurts to list a mailing address.
Fax- Faxing, just like mail is a method that isn’t used that often when it comes to contact but faxing is great for those customers looking to show you something if they don’t have a scanner, etc. If you have a fax, by all means, post your number. You never know if someone may want to fax you something.
Out of these 8 things, it’s important you implement a majority of them. The more contact methods you have, the better it is for your business. Customers love customer support and if you have a lot of it, people will love you and your business!
