7 Employee Rewards

One of the best ways to motivate your employees is by simply rewarding them.  Whether you want to give them a vacation, or a few extra bucks in their next paycheck, you want to make sure that you’re giving something meaningful.  You will also want to make sure that you’re not breaking the bank either, when it comes to rewarding.

  • Flex up the hours: Employees love good hours, and if your company is opened during the bad hours such as evenings, and weekends, you’ll want to consider giving your top employees great hours.
  • Go out to lunch: Take your great employees out on a lunch retreat.  Treat them personally, and show them you care.   You don’t have to spend $150 a plate, but rather take them out during break, and have a lunch meeting, and tell them how great you appreciate their work.
  • Give days off: People love taking breaks, and if you offer up some paid personal days off, people are going to love you for it.  You can either have a competition, or you wish, you can hand out little “coupons” to those that you want to.
  • Create “fake” money: Create some mon0poly based money that you can hand out at work.  In return, your employees can redeem them for particular goods, and items that you choose.  It’s a great incentive that people can take a part of, when looking at reaching goals.
  • Have a parking spot: This one only works great for those bigger buildings, or one’s with a bigger parking lot.  Create an “employee of the month” spot, or something of that nature.  Every month, offer that spot up to the employee that did the best.  Now, they can have prime time parking.
  • Write a simple note: Just the thought of acknowledgment is great for some people.  Write a simple note noting how much you appreciate their hard work, and efforts.
  • Cold hard cash: Obviously, I’m going to leave the best for last.  Trust me people, money talks, and if you offer fat bonuses for jobs well done, you’re going to find that people are going to work hard for that goal.

It’s up to you to decide on how you want to reward your employees, and what you want to do, in terms of rewarding.  You will find that when you treat your employees with respect, they will treat you the same way.  Get out there, and think of some ideas that will work for you!
