Motivation: If you don’t have motivation to start a business, and keep a business running, you’re going to find that you’re going to fail fairly quick. In fact, you may not even open up a shop because of this. What is your motivation? Is it for more money? Is it for your family? Think of ideas, in order to motivate yourself.
Be positive: I run a business, and whenever I talk with someone that is successful in my eyes, they are always positive. The reason negative people never succeed is because they want to go down the negative path. If you continue to think negative, you’re going to focus on those negative thoughts. Instead, think positive, and do what it takes to be positive with your business. It will honestly take you a long way.
Be committed: Your business has to be treated like another family member. You’re going to have to care for it, make sure things are running good, and when they aren’t, you have to get everything going again. Make sure you know that you can’t just open up a shop, and forget about it.
Have patience: If you want to make a million dollars in 3 months, you’re in the wrong business. Instead, you’ll want to focus on your business, and customer base. You have to know that money doesn’t grow on trees, and profits are going to come slowly. If you’re not making money after a year, you may have to rethink things.
Keep up to date: No matter what business you’re in, you’re going to want to keep up to date on everything going in your field. This means picking up books, listening to experts on your field, etc. You’ll want to know everything you can about your industry, so that the customers trust you.
