4 Ways to Find an Online Fax Service

Online fax serviceIf you own a business like I do, you’re going to find that you fax more things than imagined.  Instead of heading out to Kinko’s, and paying $2-$3 a fax, you might want to look a little bit more professional, and fax from your home office.  The cool thing about an online fax service is that you don’t need a phone line, nor do you need a fax machine.  It really is the way to having a paperless office.

How does an online fax service work?

Picture your computer as the fax machine.  What you’re going to do is sign up for a service such as eFax.  You will get your own number to give out to other businesses.  Every time someone sends you a fax via that number, you’re going to find that attachment in your e-mail inbox.  If you want to print it, do it, if not you can simply store it on your computer.

Now, if you want to send a fax to someone, you will simply scan the documents, use the software, and fax away.  You’re going to find that it’s a lot easier to use, and also a lot more convenient.

How can I find the best online fax service?

Price: Compare pricing plans when looking at online services.  As I already mentioned above, we use eFax, and find them to be the best when it comes to price, and the features that they have to offer.

Features: Again, some services will do more than just fax for you.  Some can give you more than on dedicated line, which is nice.  For example, let’s say that you have 10 employees, and you want each of them to have their own number, with services online, you can give each employee their own number.

Review it: With the great world of the Internet, make sure you hop online, and find what other people think.  Always remember that you’re going to find bad reviews about anything all the time, but the good ones will have more good reviews than bad.  See what kind of vibe you get, and go from there.

Ease of use: Many fax services let you download the software for a trial run.  I would recommend that you do it, and fax yourself some work.  See how easy it is to use.  If it’s easy, go with it.  If it’s not, you may want to choose something else.

Online fax services are great for any business.  Ditch that old fax machine, and stick with a paperless office.  If you want more ideas on how to create a paperless office, be sure to look back at an older post I created.
